In this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, our church leaders have chosen to suspend worship services and large group gatherings for the next several weeks. Please click here to read a letter from Pastor Chris and Bob Fisher, our council president, that was sent out on March 15 with more information.
UPDATE: We continue to explore how to be church together while we are apart. Some of the ways we are connecting are listed here (please let Pastor Chris know of any other ideas you might have by sending him an email at firstname.lastname@example.org). May God’s peace and hope be with you always.
Weekly Sunday worship – to bring us all God’s Word and to keep our focus on our God of hope, Pastor Chris brings us a devotion on YouTube each week. The link for the coming Sunday is on this home page. It is also included on our “Sermons” page, along with the past YouTube devotions.
Weekly Text Study – our Wednesday morning study group continues to meet via Zoom from 10 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday. Email email@example.com and a link will be sent to you so you can participate.
Care Groups – to help everyone know they are not alone during this time, our church council leaders are in contact with all of our members on a regular basis to check in, find out how they are doing, and to ask if anything is needed.
Weekly Messenger – to keep lines of communication open, an e-announcement is sent out several times a week. The first is sent out on Tuesday and contains a brief devotion along with announcements, a second goes out on Friday with a short introduction about the coming Sunday’s worship, and the third goes out about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning with a link to that day’s YouTube devotion that will be available at 10 a.m. The congregation is invited to “gather” in their homes at that time to give a sense of our community with each other. (Of course, people are welcome to view it at a different time too.) To receive these e-announcements (via MailChimp), please send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be added to the list.
Common Prayer – every day at noon – to expand our awareness of the body of Christ and the larger community of faith, all are encouraged to take one minute (or longer is OK) to “put our hands together” in prayer at noon each day. Whether you will begin your lunch or you’re in the middle of an activity (excluding driving), think of those in our community of faith as doing the same thing. Turn to God in prayer to strengthen the fellowship that is still ours in Christ.
Virtual Happy Hour – for an opportunity to gather together to just chat and catch up with our lives, all are invited to a virtual fellowship time via Zoom. Grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine or other favorite beverage, put on your comfy slippers, ease into your favorite chair, and join the conversation! To participate, please email email@example.com for the link, password and other instructions.
Angel Project – a special YouTube children’s chat and activity have been created to help our kids know God’s presence with them in these days
