All members are encouraged to attend our annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m. Annual reports will be available soon – be sure to pick up a copy to review and prepare for the meeting. There is much to discuss, decide and celebrate and you are a part of it. Join us in giving thanks for God’s activity among and through us!
Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 14-16, 5 to 8 pm
Spirit of Life, First Lutheran, St. Bede’s Episcopal and Elim are teaming up to provide appreciation with sustenance to our “first responders” (police, fire, EMT, etc.) in our area. The dinners will be held at First Lutheran. If you would like to provide some food, service and/or support, please contact Diana Gromling at 360-434-1290 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For more info, please talk with Pr. Chris.
You are invited to join us for Coffee and Conversation on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. This gathering is open to all and is a wonderful way to continue Sunday morning fellowship conversations, catch up on happenings in and around the building, and discuss life in general. We meet in the Fireside Room for hot coffee and warming conversation. We look forward to welcoming you!
For years our faith community has supported Helpline, our local food bank, with our donations. An average of 200 pounds were received annually.
To build on this ministry, in the fall of 2016 we became more focused with our giving and began doing “Food on the First.” In just three years we have gathered over 3 tons of food and toiletries! Thanks be to God!!
People are invited to take home a designated bag, put one, two or more food items in it (there’s a shopping list of suggestions available), and bring it to church by the first Sunday of the month. Bags are placed in the chancel area and blessed during worship. Donations are then taken to Helpline during the week.
Our next “Food on the First” blessing will be Sunday, Feb. 2 – your bag of donations may be brought anytime and placed in the Helpline area of the church entrance area.
Thank you for your generosity!
